IT STARTED WITH A KISS…
Hi, We’re Will & Sarah
Hello, we are Will and Sarah Sparkes, we have lived in Somerset all our lives and we know first-hand how important it is to have a wedding photographer who truly understands your vision.
When we got married over 34 years ago, there were very few options available, there was no “pre-wedding meeting” or discussion of what we wanted plus there were no websites back in 1989 so we simply booked the wedding photographer who was local to us and that was it!
We had no idea what to expect. But, despite the limited choices, we still have our wedding album to this day, and we cherish those memories dearly
To be fair he did an excellent job, yes, we all had to wait and pose for around a couple of hours, but this was the norm. The thing is, we still have the wedding album, and we still look through it with great fondness and happy memories all these years on.
We now have two beautiful children along with a growing family of dogs, cats, and ponies and live very close to where we were born near Bridgwater in Somerset.
We understand that weddings can be stressful and overwhelming, but with us by your side, you can relax and enjoy every moment.
As Somerset based, documentary style wedding photographers we work unobtrusively, capturing all those candid moments of love, laughter and tears without interrupting your celebrations.

My husband and I were lucky enough to have Will and Sarah as our wedding photographers. I cannot get over how lovely Will and Sarah are and how much they put us at ease. I’m not a fan of having my photo taken, but Will and Sarah made it so fun and carefree.

ABOUT SARAH
I’m Sarah and I’m thrilled to meet you!
Those who know me well have described me as bubbly, chatty, passionate, and energetic.
I am absolutely in love with horses, dogs, cats and most other animals, and there’s nothing quite like living in the countryside where I can be surrounded by nature and all its beauty.
For over 20 years, I have been a part-time teacher in a local primary school near Wembdon, Bridgwater, and this experience has taught me invaluable communication and organisational skills that I bring to our photography work.
When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me taking long walks with our beloved dogs Midnight, Splash, and Shadow, and capturing the stunning views of Somerset with my camera.

I’ve always enjoyed using a camera to capture the special moments in life, and when I met Will, we quickly realized that we make an excellent team.

ABOUT WILL
Hello there! My name is Will, and I have a passion for capturing beautiful moments through the lens of my camera.
I’m an outgoing and friendly person, and I’ve been told that I have a knack for telling dry jokes that can make anyone laugh.
When I’m not out photographing weddings, you can usually find me tinkering with my old Land Rovers or messing with my camera equipment.
I have a love for technology and learning new things and I like noting better than exploring new gadgets and software that can help me capture better photos.
But my interests aren’t limited to just technology – I also have a deep passion for history and enjoy restoring old objects to give them new life.
I find joy in taking something that has been forgotten or discarded and making it beautiful and useful once again.
Art has always been an important part of my life, but I soon discovered I did not have the talent for painting or drawing.
Photography has become my medium of choice for expressing my artistic vision, and I’ve spent years perfecting my craft to create beautiful images that capture the essence of a moment.
As a wedding photographer, I’m the one who watches over the details – from the perfect camera lenses to the most efficient way to organise a wedding shoot to make everyone feel at ease.
But all of that effort is worth it when I’m able to deliver beautiful images that our couples will cherish for a lifetime

Why do we do what we do?

In order to capture these precious moments, we must be fully present, alert, and ready to seize the perfect opportunity in time. You’ll often see us moving around, capturing moments from different angles, always looking for that one perfect shot that will make your heart skip a beat.

What are our surprising superpowers?
Sarah and I have a very positive outlook on life and cherish every moment we spend together. This is one of the reasons why we have been happily married for over 35 years.
Our teaching careers have honed our observation skills and given us the ability to act decisively in capturing those precious moments on your special day.
We take pride in our ability to discern when a photograph is worth taking and when it’s not. Additionally, we are adept at reading emotions, ensuring that we capture the true essence of the moment.
What’s our proudest accomplishment?
This must be our children, without question Imogen and Sam are the centre of our world and make our family complete along with our many dogs, cats and ponies that seem to have increased in number over the years.
What problems do we always solve for our clients?
Well, we specialise in helping people to feel comfortable in front of the camera, and we don’t get in the way of your special day.
You won’t find us spending hours getting you to pose in front of the camera, in fact we are very good at ” speed posing” and we believe communication is the key to this plus we can always solve your wedding photography problems but it’s not just about that.
From the moment of booking us, we are available for any queries or concerns you may have, and you can rely on us to be available for a chat at any time.
What do we do when we are not working?
When we are not working you will find us spending time with our children and animals.
We love going to historical sites such as Caerwent and Caerleon in South Wales where there are some amazing Roman ruins, and everyone is so friendly as well as visiting many of the beautiful places in Somerset such as the Quantock hills.
Our kids love to ride the ponies and we have 3 great dogs, so lots of walks every day. We both grew up in the countryside so love the outdoors, we have even been known to do a bit of metal detecting when we have time.
